Place Vendome has surprisingly nabbed 13 nominations at the '99 Cesar Awards.
Best picture, best director, best screenplay, 2 best supporting role (male), best supporting role (female), best cinematography, best sound...
And Best Actress. It's the 8th nomination for Deneuve (a Cesar's record). She's received it only two times (Adjani has won 4 times), for The Last Metro and Indochine.
In the Best Actress competition, we have Isabelle Huppert, Sandrine Kiberlain, Elodie Bouchez and Marie Trintignant. Bouchez is tie with Deneuve for the award.
Place Vendôme is the champion of the year. The Dreamlife of Angels, The Diner of fools, and Ceux qui m'aiment prendront le train are the fierce competitors... Dreamlife is favorite, since he received the Lumiere Awards, the Melies Award and one prize at Cannes.
