Un film présenté à la Quinzaine des réalisateurs, The Lighthouse, et un polar qui sera diffusé sur Netflix, Uncut Gems, dominent, avec cinq nominations chacun, les nominations des Independent Film Awards, devançant Give Me Liberty (également présenté à la Quinzaine) et Honey Boy, quatre fois nommés. Netflix est également présent avec Marriage Story, qui remporte d'ores et déjà le prix Robert Altman.

Hormis The Lighthouse et Give me Liberty, on retrouve The Climb, Une vie cachée, Pour Sama, Les Misérables, Parasite, Portrait de la jeune fille en feu et La vie invisible d'Euridice Gusmao parmi les films montrés (et tous primés) cette année au festival de Cannes.

La cérémonie récompensant les films produits pour moins de 22,5M$, aura lieu le 8 février prochain.
